It begins with the impact of the mercantilism of England on the colonies and looks at the expansionist policies of a new nation. It examines the theory and the state of affairs that brought about Wilsonian Internationalism. Isolationism is a natural response to the ravages of war and was the policy of the government between the World Wars. The Allied Coalition and the League of Nations was the basis for a policy of Internationalism that preceded the Cold War. It concludes with a section on globalization and the prospects for the future. Bibliography lists 1 source.
